Grace and peace Bible-Based Family!
In study this week, we looked at Psalm 90 where Moses prays, "So, teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom." (Ps. 90:12)
This week I want to encourage you. As we continue to shelter in place and exercise social distancing, we need not become discouraged or anxious. Instead, make the most of this time to seek the Lord through His word and inquire as to what He wants us to learn or gain in this season. How might we navigate this season having a spiritual perspective and becoming more aligned with His purposes for our lives? What “clutter” can we begin to clear away in our lives during this downtime, so that we can be more focused on God’s priorities in the future? How should we use this time to intentionally seek out opportunities to bless others?
I also want to thank you for your overwhelming response to our food drive. Your kind donations have enabled us to bless many families. If you are a family in need or know one, please call the Church office. If you are unemployed and have had difficulty applying online for unemployment benefits, paper applications may be obtained from the church office Monday – Friday, 12pm – 4pm. I am grateful to God for your devotion to Him and your continued faithfulness and generosity to His Church. You continue to provide fresh evidence that we are indeed Better Together.
Prayerfully, we continue monitoring the state of the public health crisis in our area. As a result, we we have extended our campus closure through the end of May. Our primary concern remains the health and well-being of everyone. In the meantime, we are diligently working on a plan to return to moderate and safe gatherings in June.
Until then, I encourage you to stay connected with us through the Base Online. Our Sunday worship opportunities stream at 10am, Wednesday Bible Study meets at 7pm, and weekly virtual Small Groups meet at various times during the week.
Finally, let’s Pause to Pray Monday-Friday at 12noon via phone conference by dialing (862) 799-9332. We will be praying for health and healing the week of April 26th. You can find each day’s prayer focus on our website at https://www.bible-based.org.
May the favor of the Lord rest upon you and may he establish the work of your hands! (Ps. 90:17 ESV).
In His Grip,
Anthony C. White
UPDATED: FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2020
Greetings BBFC Family,
Given the recent developments around the coronavirus crisis, we have had to rethink how we do church in this season. Our primary concern continues to be the health and well-being of each of our members. Since our local government has prohibited the gathering of 10 or more persons, we will not be gathering on campus through April 30, 2020.
As a result, we are pleased to announce The Base Online, which is our virtual church. Through The Base Online, we will continue to livestream worship services Sundays at 10:00 a.m. through our website (www.bible-based.org), and our new Facebook page at BibleBasedFC. We will also continue to offer the following opportunities for you to connect:
Bible Study, Wednesdays at 7 p.m. through Facebook live and via conference call at (862) 799-9332.
Family Prayer, Fridays at 12 p.m. on our conference call line at (862) 799-9332.
Follow Us on Facebook (/BibleBasedFC), Instagram (@BiblebasedFC) and Twitter (@BibleBasedFC1).
Our Next Gen Pastor, Richard Notice, will offer the following opportunities for our youth:
This is a challenging time for everyone, but I am confident we will be better together if we stay connected. You may still contact us by calling the church during business hours at (813) 264-4050 or connect with us through the website at www.bible-based.org.
Finally, your continued financial support during this challenging time is vital to this ministry. You may submit contributions online, via text (indicate tithe/offering), or U.S. mail. Thank you in advance for your partnership in helping us make a local imprint and global impact for the building up of God’s kingdom!
“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.” (Hebrews 10:35)
In His Grip,
Anthony C. White
FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020 (5:00 p.m.)
We continue to monitor the impact and spread of the coronavirus very closely and are following the updates from our state and local government. Governor Desantis has called for all mass gatherings to be postponed. Our primary concern remains for the health and wellbeing of each member of our congregation and our community. Consequently, we have decided NOT to gather at Bible-Based Fellowship Church as a congregation the next two Sundays, but instead to connect for worship via livestream. All Small Groups and ministry offerings are cancelled Sunday, March 15, through Sunday March 22. Only essential ministry personnel and staff are asked to report to the campus. Administrative offices will remain open Tuesday through Friday for normal business hours.
Let's remain vigilant, prayerful and practice good personal hygiene, washing your hands regularly with soap and water. If you have a fever or feel unwell, please consult with your doctor even if you feel your symptoms are mild. Stay connected with us through text messages, social media and the church website for updates and above all let's not panic.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2020
We have been following the news regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) closely. The situation around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is particularly relevant for persons with respiratory and immune deficiency conditions. At present, we are not canceling any Small Group meetings, calendar events, or worship services scheduled. However, we do ask that members use discretion regarding whether to attend services/activities if they are not feeling well or returning from international travel for two weeks. You may choose to connect to worship services through live stream at:
https://biblebasedmedia.thechurchonline.com or https://www.facebook.com/BibleBasedFC/.
We will communicate any changes to calendared activities through email, text messaging and the BBFC website.
Additionally, we are taking additional measures to sterilize surfaces in the nursery, youth areas and restrooms in addition to the routine cleanliness efforts by our Facilities Department. We recognize some may prefer not to hold or shake hands, or embrace during this season. We ask that all members be sensitive to this when greeting one another. Remember to thoroughly wash hands often and avoid hands to face contact. Let's continue to pray for our nation that God would heal our land.
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV)
